It is important to note that Dr Blenkin is not a financial advisor, and she strongly encourages you to seek independent legal, financial, taxation or other advice to check how the early access of superannuation may impact your circumstances now or in the future.

Medicare Safety Net

The Extended Medicare Safety Net means the government will provide a higher rebate (80%) for medical outpatient services once an individual or family’s out-of-pocket expenses have reached this threshold (the general threshold is $2615.50).
Medicare will automatically track your progress toward the benefit for individuals. However, to receive this benefit as a family, the family must be registered for the safety net each year.
